The Rhonald Akridge Memorial Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship will be awarded to one Minn-Kota Regional Phi Theta Kappa member transferring to an accredited four-year college. This award will be given to the student who best demonstrates how they will use their education and what they’ve been given through Phi Theta Kappa to pay-it-forward to others.

In Rhonald’s memory, Author, Adam Dince will donate $250 to the scholarship fund. In addition, 10% of in-person and 5% of online Hopeful to Hired book sale proceeds will be added to the Rhonald Akridge Memorial Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship award.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited non-profit college in an undergraduate program and be a U.S. citizen/US permanent resident.
  • Student must be an active Minn-Kota Regional Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing.
  • Have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA at the time of application. Unofficial transcripts must be submitted via email.
  • Must submit an essay in PDF format, no longer than 1,000 characters that articulates how he/she plans to use their education and what they’ve learned through Phi Theta Kappa to pay-it-forward.
  • The scholarship winner will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail no later than August 31, 2018.

Terms & Conditions of Scholarship:

By applying for the Rhonald Akridge PTK Memorial Hopeful to Hired Transfer Scholarship, the applicant agrees to these terms, unless noted otherwise:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be considered for the scholarship award.
  • To be awarded a scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled full-time at an accredited non-profit college or university located in the United States.
  • Have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA at the time of application. Unofficial transcripts must be submitted via email.
  • The applicant awarded the scholarship will be required to provide official transcripts via email submission.
  • Must submit an essay no longer than 1,000 characters that articulate how the applicant is preparing to use their education and time in Phi Theta Kappa to give back to their community.
  • Scholarships proceeds will be awarded to the student no later than August 31, 2018.
  • In order to ensure a fair and equitable selection process, Hopeful to Hired may retain the services of a third-party scholarship administrator to select and notify scholarship recipient(s).
  • Hopeful to Hired and/or its designated third-party scholarship-selection service have sole discretion of selecting scholarship recipients.
  • Hopeful to Hired reserves the right to change the scholarship programs at any time, including available scholarships, deadlines, requirements, award amounts or other program details.
  • The Hopeful to Hired Privacy Policy applies to the Rhonald Akridge Memorial Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship.
  • Scholarship winner will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail on or before August 31, 2018.
  • Applicant may not be employed at or associated with Hopeful to Hired publisher, Wise Ink.
  • Applicant may not be related to Hopeful to Hired book contributors.
  • Applicant may not be employed by or have worked directly with author, Adam Dince.
  • Applicant grants Hopeful to Hired permission to post their name on HopefultoHired.com or in other marketing communications in the event they are awarded the scholarship.
  • Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a current photo and grant Hopeful to Hired permission to use their photo on HopefultoHired.com and in other marketing communications.
