We launched the Bert Dince Memorial Hopeful to Hired Scholarship this past November, with the hopes of attracting talented college student applicants from across the country. Scholarship applications closed last night, March 31st at 11:59 PM and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We look forward to announcing the winner in the coming months.

Being the data geek that I am, I analyzed the profiles of our applicants and put together a few fun visuals. Check it out below.

If you’re just learning about Hopeful to Hired and would like to order a copy, know that a percentage of all sales will be applied to next year’s scholarship award.

Applicant Gender

Applicants were predominantly female. An interesting anecdote is that female applicants were ahead 75% vs. 25% until the very end of the application window. In other words, a majority of the male applicants waited till the last minute to submit.

40% of all applicants were male. 60% were female.

Bert Dince Memorial Hopeful to Hired Scholarship applicants represent a diverse set of majors. From these applicants, we learned so much about how students in a variety of different fields of study are actively preparing for the job they want while in college.
